Gary Mayers, whose sculptures are in public collections including the Museum Beelden aan Zee at The Hague, Palm Springs Desert Museum, California State Polytechnic University and the Rochester Institute of Technology, will have a solo exhibition of his works at the Washburn Arts Center Gallery on the Gallaudet University campus from March 29 to April 14. The Gallaudet University Art Department is sponsoring this exhibition.
Mayers collection includes outdoor and indoor works in a range of mediums—bronze, steel, stone, wood, resin, plastics, and clay. Trained both in art and landscape architecture, Mayers creates work with placement in mind. A third generation California, Mayers has witnessed the increasing urbanization of his surroundings and the unique way art and landscape architecture compliments and softens these environments giving necessary solace to modern societies.
