ARTIST WEBSITE

A native of Michigan, born hearing to Deaf parents, a Child of Deaf Adult (CODA). Diagnosed hard of hearing around 12 years of age and became partially Deaf in 1993 from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Now fully Deaf since 2020. A versatile artist for more than 40 years in different types of art and interests such as photography, sewing, catering/cake decorating, and various types of art mediums. Pam learned to paint folk and tole art from another artist, but the MS affected her hands and was not able to paint in fine art detail anymore. After a 14-year hiatus, she learned of another art medium from a close friend during a very traumatic time in her life and fell in love with mixed media art. Using her hands mostly instead of art brushes when creating mixed media art was great therapy for her hands. Because of the lack of funds, many of her mixed media art pieces have been created with recycled materials, stencils, vintage papers, her own gelli prints, old cards, maps, napkins, printed tissue papers, old books, magazines, acrylics, coffee and tea dyes, and homemade texture paste.
